SINGAPORE, July 4 (PEEK) - The Singapore government is issuing the Singapore Citizen Handbook of Conduct for the first time. This is in reaction to all the contradictory articles appearing on the recent Straits Times. The handbook will put an end to all the bickerings. For example, on page 134, it states "Section 3677 in the Penal Code implies that oral sex, even between a married couple (or between any consenting adults) in the privacy of their own bedroom, is punishable with life impresonment." It also goes on to state that "Other than vaginal sex, every other form of intercours is considered unnatural and falls under the same code." Another example of the handbook is on page 374, "Under the Prohibition of Imports (Chewing Gum) Order 1992, the importaion of chewing gum, even for personal consumption is prohibited and punishable with fines. Needless to say, the first 120 pages contain the most basic restriction in Singapore, such as S$500 for eating and drinking on the MRT, and as of last year, SBS buses.
The 18.3 kg handbook follows the "Don't think, just follow" campaign started last month. The government also stated it's mandatory for all citizens of Singapore to carry the book at all time for easy reference. People who are caught without the handbook face mandatory attendance of the course on the proper conducts of Singaporeans. The handbook will be automatically delivered to the doorsteps since the government can pinpoint the location of any citizen with the Raffles IC instituted 2 years ago. The handbook is to be put under the Prohibition of Exports Order of 2002. Exporting the handbook carries a maximum sentence of 13 canings. Visitors to S'pore are allowed to obtain a copy for personal safety but must return to the custom offical upon departure from S'pore.
With accordance to the initiative of IT 3000, the handbook will be "electronictized" in to a PDA (personal digial assitance) to be implanted in all citizens by the year 3000.
