SINGAPORE, May 23 (FYI) - In a predawn raid, several net personalities were arrested by the Singapore police force. Several others were questioned and later released. In an attempt to crack down on the "biased" and "untrue" opinions on the internet newsgroup soc.culture.singapore, the government has begin to make people "responsible" for posting their opinions on the net. The ministry of communication has issued this statement: "The internet has become a place where people abuse their freedom of speech. In order to protect the reputation of Singapore citizens, in addition to licensing the internet service provider, we are going to start licensing net surfers. Starting July 1, no one is allowed to be surfing on the net in Singapore unless a offical license is obtained from the government." Arrest warrants were also issued for 3 people who were outside of the country at the time.

In a related news, a internet worm has been released by the government of Singapore to track down anyone who has "bias" opinion on the net toward Singapore. The purpose of this action is unclear at the time of this publication.

PENANG, September 3 (FYP) - Singapore has rejoined the Malaysia Cup league after 30 years of absence. Singapore's goal of developing the local talents has never materialized though there were much support at the time by a Straits Times survey [ed - refer to the second news item in Back to the Future part 2]. The domestic league went bankrupt after a dramatic drop in attendance because of poor quality of play. One old timer complaint "How can you develop football program in Singapore if there is no one to learn from and compete with?" The Singapore Lions has been inactive for the past 5 years. The new Lions will consists of all foreign players since no one from Singapore has expressed any interest in playing in the hopeless game.

The current membership in the Singapore Lions fan club consists of 3 housewifes who still haven't loss faith in seeing the return of the Lions. In a survey conducted by the Straits Times, when ask about the opinion of Singapore rejoin the Malaysia Cup league, most people responded with "What is football?"
